The idea of forming a band came after random jam-sessions with drummer Christopher Mather and guitarist Jens Stenberg Berg. After bringing in Ole-Bjørn Mather on bass and finally Maria Berge Mathisen on keyboard and piano, Dog;Lobotomized was finally formed in a concrete cellar in Svelvik, Norway in the year 2016.
The Band defines their music as “stoner prog” and “rock with some blues fusion”.

Early summer 2019 Ole Bjørn Mather left the band due to time shortage and other projects. This resulted in Maria Berge Mathisen picking up the bass in the band.
